E.H. Chee’s works.

Introduction

Alpha Utara Gallery is proud to present this one-man exhibition devoted to E.H. Chee’s works. The second in less than 2 years, the fastest repeat solo exhibition by an artist at our gallery shows our enthusiasm in showcasing his works.

Chee’s soft spokeness and modesty belies the passion and intensity e
xuding from his works. From his earliest subliminal Bed series, to the Baconesque Figurative series, the explosive Pohon series and his latest Freudian (by that we mean Lucien, the grandson of Sigmund) Muka series, Chee demonstrates the variety, versatility and scope of his skill covering a range of subject matter. In his drawings we are also captivated by his remarkable draughtsmanship.

Expounding forms and flows in mixed media, Chee’s sometime provocative, sometime sensual, sometime exuberant a
nd always expressive imagery is produced by his masterly use of mediums, colours, layering techniques and dynamic strokes. Chee’s works possess a timeless quality, in that they will attract one at first glance, and one scant get tired of them and will continually be captivated by their freshness. See the works for yourself and we are sure you will agree with us that Chee is one exciting artist to have emerged in years.
